E – I – E – I – O!! It’s a Farm Contest for Kids! The Guilford Agricultural Society -- producers of the Guilford Fair Sept. 21 though 23 --in conjunction with media sponsor Shore Publishing, are giving kids a chance to share their thoughts on the importance of agriculture in Connecticut. Winners in three categories will read their stories on the main stage at the Fair. The tradition of writing about the Fair actually dates back to 1941. Today, as we see a renewed interest in farming, the contest includes more ages, more towns and photos and artwork that illustrate essays. Winners in three categories will receive age-appropriate awards, and win family four-packs of tickets to the Guilford Fair – a U.S. Library of Congress Local Legacy event, started in 1859. ALL entrants will receive a ribbon and certificate of participation. Judges may provide additional awards depending on the level of participation. Rules: Any children who are in grades one through eight this Fall in any
